Another challenging case operated with Excellent results at Vivek Memorial Hospital Indore by Dr Sandeep Moolchandani and his team .
This 60-year-old Female was having an Artificial mitral mechanical valve in her heart and she was also on Blood thinners. She had bleeding over both sides of her brain which was compressing crucial parts of her brain. This could have resulted in brain herniation and loss of life. After moving her from 2 hospitals over 3 days, the family members had become hopeless.
Dr Moolchandani told that “Her INR was 3.4 indicating that the coagulation capacity of the blood was very low. We received her at VMH and the patient went through multiple transfusions of plasma and platelets to reverse the blood thinning effect of medications. Before surgery, the patient was in coma”. On fifth day the patient was discharged walking and talking. Her sons and daughters were very happy to get their mother back and the neurosurgery team at VMH gave her a joyful adieu.
